We believe privacy is a fundamental right. Voicify is designed to work with minimal data collection. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
1. Introduction
Voicify ("we," "our," or "us") is an iOS application that provides AI-powered text-to-speech synthesis, optical character recognition (OCR), and voice cloning services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application.
By downloading or using Voicify, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our application.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. You may also sign in via Apple Sign In or Google Sign In, in which case we receive only the information you authorize those services to share.
- Text Input: Text you enter or paste for synthesis is transmitted to our servers solely to generate audio. We do not store or analyze your input text beyond what is necessary to provide the service.
- Voice Clone Recordings: If you use the Voice Cloning feature, you provide audio recordings. See Section 5 for important details about voice data.
- Photos / Camera: If you use the Scan to Speak (OCR) feature, images are processed on-device or transmitted securely for text extraction. Processed images are not stored on our servers.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, including features used, session duration, and error logs. This helps us improve the product.
- Device Information: We collect device identifiers, operating system version, device model, and locale settings to provide localized experiences and troubleshoot issues.
- Purchase & Subscription Data: We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect transaction data associated with your Apple ID. We do not store full payment card information.
- Advertising Identifier (IDFA): Free tier users may see ads delivered by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers for ad personalization subject to your device's tracking preferences. You can opt out at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
2.3 Analytics
We may use analytics tools (such as Firebase or equivalent) to understand aggregate usage patterns. These tools collect anonymized or pseudonymized data and cannot be used to identify you personally without additional information we do not combine.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Voicify application and its features
- Process text-to-speech synthesis and return audio to your device
- Process OCR image recognition and return extracted text
- Authenticate your identity and manage your account
- Manage subscription status and enforce usage quotas
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse
- Send transactional communications (e.g., receipt confirmations, subscription renewals)
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data to train third-party AI models, sell to data brokers, or target advertising outside of the AdMob integration disclosed above.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your data are:
- Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the services you requested
- Legitimate interests: Analytics and product improvement, fraud prevention
- Legal obligation: Compliance with applicable laws
- Consent: For optional features such as personalized advertising (which you can withdraw at any time)
5. Voice Data and Voice Cloning
⚠️ Important: You must only clone voices for which you have explicit consent from the person whose voice is being cloned, or your own voice. Cloning another person's voice without their consent is a violation of our Terms of Service and may violate applicable laws.
When you use the Voice Cloning feature:
- Your voice recording is transmitted securely to our processing servers to create a voice model
- The resulting voice model is associated with your account
- You may delete your voice models at any time from within the app (Profile → Voice Models)
- Upon deletion, voice model data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days
- We do not use your voice recordings or models to train shared or public AI models
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information with:
6.1 Service Providers
We work with third-party companies that assist us in operating our service. These providers are contractually obligated to use your data only as necessary to provide services to us:
- OpenAI / ElevenLabs (or equivalent TTS provider): Text is transmitted for speech synthesis
- RevenueCat: Subscription and purchase management
- Google AdMob: Advertising for free tier users
- Firebase / Analytics provider: Anonymized usage analytics
- Apple: Authentication (Sign in with Apple) and App Store services
6.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
6.3 Business Transfers
If Voicify is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your personal information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with legal obligations:
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account
- Audio history: Retained until you delete clips or your account
- Voice models: Retained until deleted by you, then purged within 30 days
- Usage logs: Retained for up to 12 months for analytics
- Financial records: Retained for 7 years as required by law
To delete your account and all associated data, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account in the app, or email privacy@voicify.app.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt; we never store plaintext credentials
- Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis
- We conduct regular security reviews and promptly patch known vulnerabilities
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Voicify is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately at privacy@voicify.app and we will delete it promptly.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Restriction: Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
- Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- The right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used
- The right to delete personal information (subject to certain exceptions)
- The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell your data)
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

12. International Data Transfers
Voicify is operated from and data may be processed in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US, which may have different data protection laws. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses for EEA transfers) where required.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
The app may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, by sending an in-app notification. Your continued use of Voicify after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
